Greg Newington has been working as a photographer for Newspaper and publishing companies in Australia and The Middle East since 1969. His photographs and illustrations have appeared in over 300 publications worldwide. Greg was director of Photography for Australia's Fairfax Media Group for 11 years, overseeing the management and creative direction of 16 magazines and 2 newspapers. He spent 3 years as The Photographic Editor of Rupert Murdoch's 'The Australian' and worked extensivley in the field as a news photographer and photo journalist in Bosnia, Somalia, The Sudan, Cambodia, China, Laos and Vietnam. In 1988 Greg's photography won him a first prize in The Australian News Photographer of the Year Awards and then again in1995 his work was recognised with a 2nd and 3rd place in the Nikon- Walkley National Press Awards. Greg was head of photography for Motivate Publishing in The United Arab Emirates before moving to The US where he has changed his focus to fine art and conducting Photographic Adventure Workshops in South Australia's Outback. He recently completed a year long coffee table book project "Courthouses Of Georgia" for The ACCG during which he photographed all 159 courthouses in Georgia and which was named alongside 4 other books as the Best print reference book of 2014 by The Library Journal of America.
